BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION NO. 781

DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM MARCH 1 TO 5, 2005 AS PURCHASING AND SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT WEEK

WHEREAS, the Philippine Institute for Supply Management (PSIM), is a non-stock, non-profit organization of purchasing and materials managers of the country’s top corporations;

WHEREAS, purchasing and materials managers and PSIM help upgrade the quality and competitiveness of Philippine goods and services for both the domestic and foreign markets;

WHEREAS, it is desirable that the important role played by the purchasing and materials managers in commerce and industry be brought to the attention of the people;

WHEREAS, the PSIM will celebrate its 13" National Conference and Trade Exhibit this year called SUPPLYLINK 2005 with the theme "SUPPLY CHAIN EXCELLENCE: ACHIEVING MORE OR LESS”.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from March 1 to 5, 2005 as Purchasing and Supply Chain Management Week.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
