PROCLAMATION NO. 799

DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM NOVEMBER 3 TO %, 1991, AS "CIVIL ENGINEERING WEEK”

WHEREAS, the government recognizes the important role of Civil engineers in nation-building:

WHEREAS, there is a need to inculcate in the minds of civil engineers all over the country the importance of the Civil Engineering profession and its role in mation—-building, most especially in rebuilding our country from the ruins caused by the eruptions of the Mt. Pinatubo and other natural calamities;

WHEREAS, the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers, IAc. (PISCE) will hold its annual national convention on November 7 ta 9, Pl, in Manila, with the theme "Upgrading the Civil Engineering Profession Thru Continuing Education";

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. ABUINO, President of the Philippines, by wirtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from November 3 to 9, 1991, as "Civil Engineering Week" under the auspices of the Fhilippine Institute of Civil Engineers, Inc. (FICE).

I call upon all civil engineers, educators and students to give the observance of the week their fuU1l1 support.
