BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION NO.799

DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM APRIL 4 TO 10, 2005 AS “HOG FARMERS WEEK”

WHEREAS, the National Federation of Hog Farmers, Inc. (NFHFI) is a non-stock, non-profit umbrella organization of autonomous livestock associations, with a total individual membership of more than 2,000 hog farmers;

WHEREAS, the NFHFI will hold its 14" National Convention and Trade Exhibit on April 7 to 9, 2005 at the Tagaytay International Convention Center, Tagaytay City;

WHEREAS, it is necessary to focus attention on the role which the hog-farming sector plays in accelerating the development of the livestock industry;

WHEREAS, there is an imperative need to support and promote the hog farming industry in order to achieve excellence in food production and food safety that are essential for the Filipino consumers’ daily food requirements;

WHEREAS, the NFHFI believes in being self-directed and empowered to instill in all its members and to realize the goals of the present administration’s food security program.

NOW, THEREFORE, |, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from April 4 to 10, 2005 as “Hog Farmers Week”.
