DECLARING THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 22, 2001, AS A SPECIAL DAC! ANS PROVINCE OF ZAMBOANGA DEL SUR

WHEREAS, Republic Act No. 8973 dated November 7, 2000, providss ii ile

and mandates the holding of plebiscite for the ratification thereof;

‘ WHEREAS, the Commission on Elections, in ils Resolution No. 3577 sisted February 8, 2001, has scheduled the plebiscite day for the ratification of the crcation of the said province on Thursday, February 22, 2001;

WHEREAS, to enable the residents of the said province to actively partici Pp ule ii } the scheduled political exercise, there is a need to declare the plebiscite day #2 r:yzctal day.

‘NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYS GB, Viosiaeul uf the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby decluze ‘Viaursday, February 22, 2001, as a special day in the Province of Zamboanga del Sur.
