BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES

PROCLAMATION NO. 832

DECLARING A STATE OF PUBLIC CALAMITY IN THE

PROVINCE OF NEGROS

OCCIDENTAL AND THE CITIES OF BACOLOD, BAGO AND LA CARLOTA WHICH ALSO SUFFERED FROM THE EFFRCTS OF ‘TYPHOON "URING" .

WHEREAS, according to the National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC), the province of Negros Occidental and the cities of Bacoled, Bago and La Carlota also suffered from the effects of

typhoon “Uring":

WHEREAS, the NDCC reported that there were 75 deaths mostly due to flashfloods, 8] families or 486 persons were rendered hame- less, 281 families or 1,686 persons were affected and about. P70 M worth of damage to private and public properties in the said areas;

and

WHEREAS, the declaration of a state of aforementioned province and cities wil] oper of NDCC response agencies for the welfare of

public calamity in the ationalize the programs the disaster victims.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philip-

pines, by virtue of the powers vested in me

by law, do hereby

declare a state of public calamity in the province of Negros Occidental and the cities of Bacolod, Bago and La Carlota which also suffered frem

the effects of typhoon "Uring".

All departments and other government. agencies concerned are

hereby directed to implement and execute re] work in accordance with existing operational and order issued in connection with calamiti

ief and rehabilitation Plans and the directive es.
