MALACAfrAN PALACE TTAN1LA BY THE FRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES FROCLAMATION NO. 84 DEGLARING THF RHGULAR HOLTDAYS, SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAYS, AND SPECIAL HOLTDAY (FOR ALL SCI{OOLS) FOR THE YEAR 2011 WHEREAS, Republic Act (RA) No, 9492, dated July 24, 2A07, amended Section 26, Chapter 7, Book I of Executive Order (EO) No, 292, also known as the Administrative Code of 1987, by declaring certain days (specific or movable) as speclal or regular holidays; \ruHEREAS, RA No, 9492 provides that holidays, except those which are religious in nature, are moved to the rrearest Monday unless otherwise modified by law, order or proclamation; WHEREAS, RA No. 9849 provides that the Eidul nOna shall be celebrated as a national holiday; WHEREAS, the EDSA People Power Revolution, which restored and ushered political, social and econemic reforms in the country, serves as ar'l inspiration to Filipinos everywhere as a nation and as a people; NOW, THEREFORE, l, BENIGNO S. AQUINO lll, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution as President of the Philippines, do hereby declare: SECTION 1. The following regular holidays and special days for the year 2011 shall be observed in the countrv: A. The proclamations declaring national holidays for the observance af Eid'l Fifr and Eidul Adha shatl hereafter be issued .after the apfroxirrate dates of thelslamic holidays have been determined in accordarrce with the'lslarnic calendar (Hijra) or the lunar calendar, or upon lslamic astronomical calculations, whichever is possible or convenierrt. To this end, the National Commission orr Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) shallinform the office of the President on which day the horiday shall fall. $EcrloN 3. The Department of Labsr, and Employment (DOLE) shatlpromulgate the implementing guidelines for this Proctamation. SECTION 4. This Proclamation shall take effect immediatety. SECTION 5.
