MALACANANGManila tf[ BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION NO. 842 DECLARING A STATE OF CALAMITY IN THE PROVINCES OF QUEZON, AURORA, QUIRINO, NUEVA VIZCAYA, I~ABELA, CAGAYAN, BATANES, LA UNION, ILOCOS SUR, AND ILOCOS NORTE Upon recommendation of the Secretary of National Defense as Chairman of the National Disastel Coordinating Council, and by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare a state of calamity in the provinces of Quezon, Aurora, Quirino, NuevaVizcaya, Isabela, Cagayan, Batanes, La Union, IlocosSur, and Ilocos Norte due to the adverse effects of typhoon "Glaring. " All departments and other government agencies concerned are hereby directed to implement and executerelief and rehabilitation work in accordance with existing operational plans and directives and orders issued in connection with calamities.
