MALACANANt\MANILA BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION NO. 844 DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM AUGUST 27 TO 31, "DIRECT SELLING WEEK" 1996 AS WHEREAS, it is one of the avowed policies of the government to advance economic growth by promoting expanded trade and commerce; role WHEREAS, it is necessary to recognize the important production executives play in the development of our economy; WHEREAS, there is a need to focus national attention on the contribution of direct selling industry in boosting economic growth; NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of theRepublic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law,do hereby declare the period from August 27 to 31, 1996 as "DirectSelling Week" in the Philippines. IN WITNESS WHEOF, I have hereunto set my hand and causedthe seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affIXed.
