BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION NO. 909

DECLARING SUNDAY, 16 FEBRUARY 2020 AS SPECIAL WORKING HOLIDAY IN CELEBRATION OF THE CORREGIDOR D-DAY

WHEREAS, the Government aims to inculcate and strengthen patriotism and nationalism among Filipinos;

WHEREAS, historical records show that on 16 February 1945, Filipinos with American allies commenced the successful attack to retake the Island of Corregidor; and

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper to commemorate victorious moments in Philippine history in remembrance of Filipino bravery and heroism;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, RODRIGO ROA DUTERTE, President ‘of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Sunday, 16 February 2020 a special working holiday, in celebration of the Corregidor D- Day.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, | have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
