PROCLAMATION NO. 914

DECLARING THE _ PERIOD FROM JUNE 6 TO 12, OF EVERY YEAR AS peed "LINGGO NG KALAYAAN" bs

WHEREAS, there is constant need to strengthen nationalism»and to install the value of freedom and democracy in the consciousness and activities of every Filipino;

WHEREAS, the importance of Filipino nationalism can effectively be underscored by focusing national attention on nationalism, freedom and democracy particularly on the 94th Anniversary of the Philippine Independence and on the comme- moration of the Centennial of the founding of KKK and the La Liga Filipina;

WHEREAS, to achieve this end, a concerted and unified effort from all sectors of society must be pursued so as to: inspire in everyone a sense of pride.in his heritage as a Filipino;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, *do hereby declare the period from June 6 to 12 of every year as "Linggo ng Kalayaan". All sectors of society and government shall join hands in pursuing projects and activities geared toward inspiring nationalism among our people.
