BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION NO. 96

DECLARING MAY 7, 1987, AND EVERY YEAR THEREAFTER AS "HEALTH WORKERS' DAY",

WHEREAS, health workers provide vital health services to our people in various settings - hospitals, factories, communities and health centers; and

WHEREAS, their important roles and contributions need to be given due recognition and tribute as a way of enhancing their sense of worth and dignity;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO,: President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare May 7, 1987, and every year thereafter as "Health Workers' Day", however, the day shall be a regular working and school day.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and

caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed. ,
