BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION NO. 966

DECLARING TUESDAY, 05 AUGUST 2025, A SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE CITY OF CALBAYOG

WHEREAS, Jose Avelino, who was born on 05 August 1890 in Calbayog, Western Samar, served as the first Senate President after the Second World War;

WHEREAS, on 05 August 2025, Tuesday, the City of Calbayog will commemorate the birth anniversary of Jose Dira Avelino;

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the City of Calbayog be given full opportunity to participate in the occasion and enjoy the celebration;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, LUCAS P. BERSAMIN, Executive Secretary, by authority of the President, FERDINAND R. MARCOS, JR., do hereby declare Tuesday, 05 August 2025, a special (non-working) day in the City of Calbayog.
