PROCLAMATION NO. 22.

DECLARING THE SECOND WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 2001 AND EVERY YEAR THEREAFTER AS “AGRICULTURAL JOURNALISM WEEK”

WHEREAS, agriculture is one of the key components in winning the war against poverty;

WHEREAS, greater public awareness of agriculture through agricultural journalism helps boost the development of Philippine agriculture;

WHEREAS, there is a need to focus more attention on the important role played by agricultural journalism in national economic development.

NOW, THEREFORE, I GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Philippine, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare in the Second Week of September 2001 and every year thereafter as “Agricultural Journalism Week”.
