AN ACT DECLARING APRIL 16 OF EVERY YEAR A SPECIAL HOLIDAY AND NO CLASS DAY IN SCHOOLS IN THE CITY OF MARIKINA IN COMMEMORATION OF ITS FOUNDING ANNIVERSARY TO BE KNOWN AS "MARIKINA CITY DAY"

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

Section 1. April 16 of every year is hereby declared a special working holiday and no class day is schools in the City of Marikina in commemoration of its founding anniversary to be known as "Marikina City Day".

Section 2. For work performed on special working holiday an employee is entitled to his/her regular wage.

Section 3. This Act shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation.

This Act which originated in the House of Representatives was passed by the House of Representatives on March 10, 2014, amended by the Senate on December 14, 2015, and which amendments were concurred in by the House of Representatives on January 25, 2016.
