AN ACT UPGRADING THE ORANI DISTRICT HOSPITAL IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF ORANI, PROVINCE OF BATAAN INTO A LEVEL II GENERAL HOSPITAL TO BE KNOWN AS THE ANTONIO ”TONY” P. ROMAN MEMORIAL HOSPITAL, INCREASING ITS BED CAPACITY FROM FIFTY (50) TO TWO HUNDRED (200) BEDS, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

Section 1. The Orani District Hospital in the Municipality of Orani, Province of Bataan is hereby upgraded into a level II general hospital to be known as the Antonio “Tony” P. Roman Memorial Hospital. The authorized bed capacity of Antonio “Tony” P. Roman Memorial Hospital is hereby increased from fifty (50) to two hundred (200) beds. Any future increase in bed capacity shall be prepared by the Chief of Hospital of the Antonio “Tony” P. Ramon Memorial Hospital, and submitted to the Department of Health (DOH).

Section 2. The existing professional health care services and facilities of the Antonio “Tony” P. Ramon Memorial Hospital are hereby upgraded to conform with and be commensurate to the increase in bed capacity as provided for in Section 1 hereof. The number of personnel shall be correspondingly increased.

Section 3. The Provincial Government of Bataan shall provide the necessary funds for the maintenance. And other operating expenses of the Antonio “Tony” P. Memorial Hospital. It shall also appropriate funds for human resource complement to support the increase in bed capacity and the corresponding upgrading of its service facilities and professional health care services. The Secretary of Health shall include in the Department’s subsidy program, support for the capital outlay requirements of the said district hospital.

Section 4. All laws, executive orders, issuances, rules and regulations inconsistent with this Act are hereby repealed, amended or modified accordingly.

Section 5. This Act shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation.

This Act which originated in the House of Representatives was passed by the House of Representatives and the Senate of the Philippines on November 23, 2021 and May 30, 2022, respectively.
