Republic Act No. 12014

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

Section 1

A district engineering office of the Department of Public Works and Highways is hereby created in the Second Legislative District, Province of Davao del Norte, to be located in the Municipality of Carmen, and referred to as the Davao del Norte Second District Engineering Office.

Section 2

The Davao del Norte Second District Engineering Office shall serve the City of Panabo, the Island Garden City of Samal and the municipalities of B.E. Dujali, Carmen and Santo Tomas, all located in the Second Legislative District of the Province of Davao del Norte.

Section 3

The Secretary of Public Works and Highways shall include in the Department's program the operationalization of the Davao del Norte Second District Engineering Office, the funding of which shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.

Section 4

This Act shall take effect after fifteen (15) days following its publication in the Official Gazette or in a national newspaper of general circulation.

This Act, which originated in the House of Representatives, was passed by the House of Representatives and the Senate of the Philippines on May 9, 2023 and May 22, 2024, respectively.
