Republic Act No. 12143

AN ACT DECLARING MARCH 7 OF EVERY YEAR A SPECIAL NON-WORKING HOLIDAY IN THE PROVINCE OF BASILAN, IN COMMEMORATION OF ITS FOUNDATION ANNIVERSARY TO BE KNOWN AS "ARAW NG BASILAN", AND IN RECOGNITION OF THE "TENNUN PAKARADJAAN" AS THE OFFICIAL FESTIVAL OF THE PROVINCE OF BASILAN

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

Section 1. March 7 of every year is hereby directed a special non-working holiday in the Province of Basilan, in commemoration of its foundation anniversary, to be known as "Araw ng Basilan", and in recogntion of the "Tennun Pakaradjaan" as the official festival of the Province of Basilan.

Section 2. This Act shall take effect after fifteen (15) days following the completion of its publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation.

This Act, which originated in the House of Representatives, was passed by the House of Representatives and the Senate of the Philippines on February 22, 2023 and December 17, 2024, respectively.
