Republic Act No. 12274

AN ACT DECLARING APRIL 1 OF EVERY YEAR A SPECIAL WORKING HOLIDAY IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF STA. CRUZ, PROVINCE OF OCCIDENTAL MINDORO, TO BE KNOWN AS "ARAW NG STA. CRUZ", IN COMMEMORATION OF ITS FOUNDATION ANNIVERSARY

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

Section 1. April 1 of every year is hereby declared a special working holiday in the Municipality of Sta. Cruz, Province of Occidental Mindoro, to be known as "Araw ng Sta. Cruz", in commemoration of its foundation anniversary. However, upon proclamation of the President, April 1 of every year shall be a special non-working holiday in the Municipality of Sta. Cruz, Province of Occidental Mindoro.

Section 2. This Act shall take effect after fifteen (15) days following the completion of its publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation.

This Act, which originated in the House of Representatives, was passed by the House of Representatives on November 21, 2022, amended by the Senate of the Philippines on December 17, 2024, and which amendments were concurred in by the House of Representatives on June 4, 2025.
