Republic Act No. 12275

AN ACT DECLARING THE KUYAMIS FESTIVAL AS THE OFFICIAL FESTIVAL OF THE PROVINCE OF MISAMIS ORIENTAL

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

Section 1. The Kuyamis Festival is hereby declared the official festival of the Province of Misamis Oriental.

Section 2. The second Friday of January of every year is hereby declared a special non-working holiday in the province in celebration of the Kuyamis Festival.

Section 3. To carry out the purpose of this Act, there is hereby created a Special Festival Fund to be charged against any available fund of the province, including its share from the National Tax Allotment.

Section 4. This Act shall take effect after fifteen (15) days following the completion of its publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation.

This Act, which originated in the House of Representatives, was passed by the House of Representatives and the Senate of the Philippines on January 23, 2023 and June 3, 2025, respectively.
