Republic Act No. 1264

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippine Congress Assembled:

Section 1. Act Numbered Thirty

one hundred forty-three is amended by adding after section five thereof a new section, to be known as section 5-A, which shall read as follows:

"Sec. 5-A. Within thirty days after the approval of this amendatory Act, the Sub-province of Siquijor shall be constituted and organized into a separate, independent and regular highway engineering district similar to existing engineering districts, for which a district engineer shall be assigned in accordance with laws rules and regulations applicable thereto."

Section 2

The title of the said Act is amended to read as follows:

"An Act granting to the Sub-province of Siquijor the right to elect a member to represent the interests of the sub-province in the provincial board of Oriental Negros, and constituting said sub-province into a separate, independent and regular highway engineering district.

Section 3

This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
