Republic Act No. 2278

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippine Congress Assembled:

Section 1

Subject to the provisions of the Constitution of the Philippines and the Public Service Act, the franchise granted by Act Numbered Twenty hundred thirty-nine to Thomas D. Aitken and transferred by him to the Manila Gas Corporation to construct, maintain and operate gas systems for the furnishing of gas for heat, lighting and power in the City of Manila and the Province of Rizal, is hereby extended for a period of fifty years from the date of its expiration subject to the terms and conditions provided in said Act Numbered Twenty hundred thirty-nine.

Section 2

This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
