RA 5539 - An Act Creating Three Additional Positions of Assistant City Fiscal in the City of San Carlos, Amending for the Purpose Section Twenty-Three of Republic Act Numbered Twenty-Six Hundred Forty-Three, Otherwise Known as the Charter of the City of San Carlos
Republic Act No. 5539
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:
Section 1
The first paragraph of Section twenty-three of Republic Act Numbered Twenty-six hundred forty-three, as amended, is further amended to read as follows:
"Section 23. The City Fiscal and Register of Deeds ex-officio, his assistants—his powers, duties and compensations.—The city fiscal, who shall discharge his duties under the general supervision of the Secretary of Justice shall be the chief legal adviser of the city. He shall act as register of deeds ex-officio with an additional compensation of six hundred pesos per annum. There shall be four assistant city fiscals who shall receive the salaries in accordance with the provisions of existing laws."
Section 2
The city fiscal and the assistant city fiscals shall be appointed by the President of the Philippines with the consent of the Commission on Appointments.
Section 3
This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
