Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

Section 1

The following sums are hereby authorized to be appropriated for the operation and maintenance of the Concurrent Philippine Consulate in Singapore, Federation of Malaya, British North Borneo, Sarawak, and Brunei, with main office in Singapore:

SALARIES AND WAGES

1.One foreign affairs officer, class IIIP5,400.00

2.One clerk stenographer1,920.00

3.For weekly wages of local help to serve in such capacities as interpreter, chauffeur, messenger, janitor and laborer2,000.00

Section 2

The establishment of a Philippine Consulate in British North Borneo shall not be deemed to be a waiver of the claim of the heirs of the Sultan of Sulu or the Philippine Government to that territory.

Section 3

The general provisions of the Appropriation Act for the fiscal year nineteen hundred and fifty-two including the special provisions pertaining to the Department of Foreign Affairs, shall apply to the appropriations herein authorized.

Section 4

This Act shall take effect on July first, nineteen hundred and fifty-one.
