An Act Declaring August 28 of Every Year a Special Nonworking Public Holiday in the City of Cagayan De Oro to Be Known as "Cagayan De Oro City Day"

AN ACT DECLARING AUGUST 28 OF EVERY YEAR A SPECIAL NONWORKING PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN THE CITY OF CAGAYAN DE OR0 TO BE KNOWN AS "CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY DAY"

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

Section 1. August 28 of every year is hereby declared a special nonworking public holiday in the City of Cagayan de Oro, Province of Misamis Oriental to celebrate the feast day of St. Augustine, the patron saint of the City, and to be known as "Cagayan de Oro City Day".

Section 2. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.

This Act which originated in the House of Representatives was finally passed by the House of Representatives and the Senate on November 17,2008 and March 2,2009, respectively.
